PopUp Bagels in Westfield NJ

On July 12th, 2026, I took my first visit to PopUp Bagels in Westfield, NJ. This bagel store has gone viral recently due to it being built only 50 feet away from another bagel restaurant, and its popularity from other restaurants located in New York state. It had its grand opening ceremony on July 10th, 2026, and it became the first of two PopUp Bagel restaurants to open in New Jersey. I didn’t buy food from there on July 10th or 11th, but whenever I drove by the restaurant, I saw a line going out the door, which made me curious. Thus, I decided to make a trip and have breakfast there.
I woke up early on Sunday, July 12th, which was a hot summer morning, and arrived at the bagel store around 8 AM. I wanted to get there early since I have seen the big lines stretching outside of the restaurant, and unsurprisingly there was still a big line when I arrived early there in the morning!
To speed up the line, an employee came out and explained to us how their restaurant operates and took our orders prior to each of us walking up to the cash register. After I gave my order, the employee wrote down what type of bagels I was looking to purchase on the brown bag he gave me, and after I paid and picked up my scallion cream cheese, I waited for my name to be called in the corner of the restaurant. From the time I got in line which was stretched out to the right side of the restaurant, it took me around 12 minutes to pick up my food.
After hearing my name and retrieving my food, I sat outside of the restaurant on a little table. I purchased the poppyseed, sesame seed, and everything bagel, and I liked all three of the bagels equally. Each of the bagels were hot and soft, and they were delicious when I mixed it with my scallion cream cheese. Usually, bagels made by other restaurants are not soft so we can spread butter or cream cheese around it using a knife, but the purpose of eating at this restaurant was to order hot and soft bagels that are meant to be dipped into different cream cheeses.
Although I didn’t try the other cream cheeses or bagels, I’ve read online that they also have plain and salt, bagels, plain cream cheese, salted butter, apple pie cream cheese, or garlic rosemary butter, which I would be interested in trying another day. It is also possible to add smoked salmon to the bagels.
Overall, I enjoyed my first ever visit to PopUp Bagels and I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who is obsessed with bagels and cream cheese. Although this location as of now does not offer any bagel sandwiches, it’s different from the other locations in the Westfield and Cranford area, and it’s nice to see that there are many different options for bagels in this area. While waiting in line, I overheard a couple say to the employee taking everyone’s orders that they drove all the way from Bridgewater, NJ to pick up breakfast that morning, which shows that PopUp Bagels is very popular and will continue to be a successful bagel chain.
