On May 31, 2026, I rode the newest roller coaster to open in New Jersey for 2026 named Patriot’s Run at Jenkinson’s Boardwalk in Point Pleasant, NJ.
This roller coaster made a surprise opening on Friday, May 29th, 2026, so I made a trip to experience the new roller coaster only two days after it opened.
Patriot’s Run was built by the roller coaster manufacturer SBF Visa, and this manufacturer also built Shark Escape in the same park, the former Tidal Wave, and several other small compact spinning coasters such as Xolo Loca, Cinderoller Coaster, Freedom Rider, and Tumblin' Timbers which are also in New Jersey.
Patriot’s Run has an old school Zyklon/Galaxi layout which is frequently used at other small boardwalks, and it follows a figure eight layout that weaves inside and out of the structure.
Once the riders have secured a comfort collar, a lap bar, and a seatbelt to hold the lap bar down, they make a 180° turn up the lift hill. An exact height of this roller coaster has not been released, but I would estimate it’s around 60 feet tall. After the train releases from the chain lift, the riders experience a bunch of rapid tight drops that give some good pops of airtime, and a fun helix.
My favorite aspect of this roller coaster is how the trains and ride looks on the boardwalk. Each train is decorated to resemble the American flag. Given that the name of the ride is Patriot’s Run, it has a very fitting theme and it’s nice that it pays homage to America’s 250th birthday.
Overall, I enjoyed experiencing Patriot’s Run at Jenkinson’s Boardwalk and I recommend this ride to other roller coaster enthusiasts and anyone else looking to have fun on the Jersey Shore. Jenkinson’s Boardwalk was always one of my favorite places to visit every summer, and I was very excited to see a new roller coaster being constructed that I can easily visit.
