Farmers' Fair

The Farmers' Fair is a fun festival taking place this year from July 26th to August 2nd. It hosts numerous activities, some of which change from day to day. The festival website hosts the schedule of the activities for each day. Some of these events include live music, horse shows, rodeos, demolition derbies, and more. When walking through the fair, there are vendors selling snacks, food, handcrafted items, and other souvenirs. There was a building showcasing winning entries for arts&crafts categories, vegetables, and photographs too.

One cool booth we came across had chicken eggs inside incubators and some of the eggs were to hatch the same day we visited! Another area of the fair had many animals on display, including: piglets, geese, sheep, goats, cows, ponies, and donkeys. The horses were housed in a separate section of the fair since they were partaking in the horse shows.

For children who enjoy carnivals, there were a lot of carnival rides and games available too. Some of the rides looked a bit rough, but overall people seemed to enjoy themselves. Walking through the buildings, there were various displays. A favorite of ours was a garden display with a fountain. It made for a nice pitstop from the extreme heat of the day.

Balloon Launch

This was the fair's 25th anniversary of balloon launches. We missed the special cake balloon they had prepared, but we caught view of the other balloons during their launch while watching the demolition derby. If you are interested in riding in a balloon, you can purchase tickets, but if you aren't sure, you can pay for a tethered ride that does not go nearly as high in the sky. It is a beautiful sight to see when they all launch.

Demolition Derby

The demolition derby is an event that only happens on select days of the fair. It is a fun event where participants build and decorate cars to participate in this derby. Cars then compete by category to see which will be the last car standing. In this particular derby, there were 5 rounds, and cars were split in size categories.

The Warren County Farmers' Fair and Balloon Festival is a fun visit. Whether you participate in the activities throughout the day, are just a spectator, or wish to browse and buy cute souvenirs, there is something for everyone to check out.
