Kinnelon, New Jersey

In the middle of a lake sits a small chapel with a lot of history. The St. Hubert's Chapel is a hidden gem of Kinnelon, NJ.
It is a private chapel and cannot be accessed any time of year, but it is available for public viewing on a couple days each year. It was built in the 1880s by Francis S. Kinney for his wife, and it was decorated by the Tiffany Glass Company. Unfortunately, in the 1950s there was vandalism that caused a lot of the damage to the church. With donations, it has been able to restore most of what was damaged.
This year only one day was scheduled to offer public tours. We were lucky to be able to view it. We took a short boat ride (provided by volunteers) from the beach to the chapel island. On the island awaited the tour guide, who is also the person overseeing the restoration process.
The church has a large clock tower and two main rooms. The first room when you enter has a large angel statue and the iconic Tiffany glass window in the shape of a cross. The second room has the pews and altar.
Who have thought that such a beautiful chapel would be hidden in a lake in New Jersey?
